3 Reasons To Start Time Blocking a Calendar
Jun 29, 2020If you have ever gotten to the end of your day only to look back and realize you hopped around from project to project and never really accomplished anything of value, then it may be time to change how you schedule your workflow.
Time blocking is a common productivity and scheduling practice that is incredibly beneficial. At its core, it is the process of holding space each day for your top priorities and then filling in the gaps around those time blocks with other tasks or events until your days are COMPLETELY filled.
By accounting for every minute of your day, you eliminate wasted time. You take back those precious moments that slip through your fingers when you fall prey to the tyranny of the urgent, or to the siren call of social media.
This planning method requires you to take every hour and minute captive.
You are not just assigning times every day for work-related things; you are also scheduling in things like free time, family time, fun time, and more. If you are serious about redefining your workday and taking back minutes you would otherwise waste - even if accidentally - then you need to give this a try. Being intentional makes all the difference, especially when it comes to setting priorities and actually getting work done.
Yout time is your most valuable resource, and unless you choose to spend it with purpose, you will find it leaking out on trivial things. Time is a finite resource; once spent, you do not get it back. Spend it wisely, my friend.
